There’s something different each week on the Pond Jam. Over the past month we have seen 6 hour jams dedicated to drum & bass, dubstep, hard dance and hip hop. Now for something completely different… Soul is the theme for this Monday’s jam with a line-up of DJs who will soothe you with their smooth sounds over several genres. Sets of soul music from Dave Collins and Jason Lee will be the focus of this jam with soul-infused house, nu-disco, drum & bass and even dubstep being provided by a cast of Soundpond.net residents

The Soulful Pond Jam sees Dave Collins steps into the Soundpond studio for the first time. The UK DJ began in 1975 while serving in The Royal Navy where he would play soul music on the ships radio network. Focusing on underground soul, funk and jazz rather than mainstream chart music, Dave turned professional in 1979 after he left the Navy. As well as working pubs and clubs, Dave got involved in London’s illegal pirate radio scene playing on stations such as Solar, JFM and Kiss FM before joining commercial station Capital FM in 1983. Dave Collins moved to Australia in the nineties and currently hosts Sunday morning show “Beats and Pieces” on Fresh 92.7 where he mixes sounds from his vast music collection with the deep house sounds of today.
Jason Lee has been a vinyl junkie since his teens and a DJ since his early twenties. While his passion is house music, Jason has a wide collection including jazz, musicals, movie sound tracks, rhythm n blues, funk, soul, some hip hop, and lots of disco. Jason has played in most venues in Adelaide at least once and currently hosts “Diggin’ Deep” Fridays 2-4pm on Soundpond.net. Jason will be playing sounds along the lines of The Impressions, The Chi-lites and The Detroit Emeralds.
Elliot Ness is a leader, not a follower, continually pushing the boundaries of quality house music. Elliot has supported some of the world’s best house DJs and producers including Joshua Heath (USA), Bryan Jones (USA), Kinky Movement (UK), Jorge Watts, Sonny Fodera, The House Inspectors, Tom Drummond, aNyO and d-t3ch to name a few. Elliot has also been a host of Fresh 92.7′s “The Quintessential Mix” and currently hosts Sundays 12-2pm on Soundpond.net with fellow house heads Serge L Casa and Edgar Roex.
Batch and Rohan are two of Soundpond.net’s resident drum & bass heads, hosting the “Neat Freqs” and “Rinse Cycle” shows on Sunday afternoons. For this set they will be exploring the soulful drum & bass and liquid funk sounds.
Skippy, co-host of Tuesday evening’s “Bass & Beyond” show, will be exploring the soulful sounds that UK garage and dubstep have to offer.
