Pond Jam – Exposure Drum & Bass – Monday 28th May

Exposure DNB Jam

Drum and bass is back on the Pond Jam! Still a hugely popular sound in Adelaide, it’s about time we got some DnB crew back in the studio for 6 hours of high-tempo breakbeats and basslines. Vilen, one of the hosts of Soundpond.net show Exposure, has taken the reigns for this Pond Jam, and will be showcasing some of the DJs that feature on Exposure as well as heaps of other names from Adelaide’s wider DnB community. 17 DJs, one MC and one vocalist. No set times, just all-in madness! This will be a party and a half! You don’t wanna miss this!

Streaming live with video on www.soundpond.net from 6pm Monday 28th May 2012.

Meet the crew Vilen has selected and why:

MACRO is an old hat in the Local scene, having rocked many a floor over the years. While  taking a brief hiatus to follow his other passions in dubstep, he has returned to the world of drum and bass.

SYRAS is new to the scene, but brings passion and a skill at the wheels not often seen in such a new blood. Syras is also part of the EXPOSURE show, featuring regularly and rinsing it proper for the listeners. EXPOSURE crew through and through.

FICTION and FILTER Need no introductions, having been at the forefront of the local scene for a lifetime running Inbound and providing Adelaide punters with true quality drum and bass for nearly two decades. The Sarge and the Number 1 Rocker in the house !

KIDDO is a dark horse, not only as a DJ but as a producer, and part of the EXPOSURE crew here on Soundpond. Carefully honing his skills and keeping it real for many years in our scene, this guy is meant for big things. In the words of MC Dynamite: Its been ready for years, but its all about timing.

TARKS is a rising talent in the local scene, playing often at HQ to rolling crowds, and featuring regularly on EXPOSURE. This guy’s got that double drop badness in the bag!

BACKUP’s skill on the 1′s and 2′s are first rate. His ear for tunes and how to mix them are first class all the way. Beware, this guy means business. EXPOSURE CREW.

MIKEY, is a feature at most quality DnB events and has been since his win at the Inbound DJ comp a few years back. This guy’s got the skills, is one of the few DJ’s capable of holding a room after an international has played, and also features on EXPOSURE on the reg.

SYNX is a serious talent here in Adelaide. A great DJ and a formidable producer, this lad consistantly brings tune after tune. Look out for Synx on the world stage in the coming years. Theres no stopping this lad, and we’re proud to call him EXPOSURE crew.

TROUB9L is definately Adelaides first lady of Drum and Bass having been one of the hardest working and most positive contributors to the local scene since the mid naughties. Having worked the graveyard shift week in week out on Resonation on Fresh 92.7, Troub9l has well and truly earnt her spot on Rollers, and also Soundpond’s Rinse Cycle with Rumble and Rohan. Over the years Troub9l has gone from strength to strength and is proving to be a firm crowd favourite with her large support base.

RUMBLE also ran Resonation for many years with Troub9l, and co-hosts The Rinse Cycle with Troub9l and Rohan. Rumble is one of Adelaides staunchest vinyl collectors,  knows how to mix, and has the weaponry in which to do so… BAD BWOYIEE!

LP is one of those rare eclectic travellers, who searches high and low for beats with that extra bit of class. LP’s sets are a must hear for anyone who likes to go a lil deeper and hear what those underground guys are doing. Oh, and did I mention the lad has impecable mixing skills? Booya !

ROHAN is the guy with the dance moves… This guy can mix like a mofo, and dance at the same time. He also co-hosts the Rinse Cycle with Rumble and Trouble on Soundpond.net on Sunday afternoons. Serious talent !

PATCH  really needs no introduction. Patch has been Adelaide’s premier DnB DJ for over a decade. Known not only locally, but interstate and overseas, Patch is renowned for getting tracks in fast and bangin in those seamless double drops. His creative and innovative mixing style and party mode track selection can get any floor rocking.

WEEZ is well known in local circles. Along side Patch and MPK, Weez makes up one Third of Pretendulum, Adelaide’s tongue in cheek tribute to Pendulum. The lad can spin… Nuff Said !

RAINGE has been a part of the DnB scene for some time now but until recently has been happy to take a back seat, regardless of his formidable mixing skills and accute track selection. Rainge now runs his own Tuesday night show on Subverted Basscast called the Back Room.

MC XPRESS has been rocking local dancefloors since the beginning, and is Inbounds in-house MC. Always quick with a shout, and remembering EVERYONE’S name, this lad can spit fire like no other! Xpress yourself !

NEREEDA MCINNES is head vocalist for The Oscillators, Adelaides live DnB outfit. Nereeda is often seen gracing the mic at local gigs and has the skills to pay the bills!

Exposure Drum & Bass Jam streams live with video on www.soundpond.net from 6pm Monday 28th May 2012.
